Our Board of Directors
Prior to founding WineShop At Home in 2002, Mr. Lynch, along with his wife, Melissa, built 1-800-WineShop into a nationally recognized wine retailer and wine club. Prior to founding these two companies, Mr. Lynch was president of T. J. Lynch, Inc., a multi-million dollar contracting and engineering firm. For 12 years, he led the company from early stage through significant growth, negotiating and administering large contracts for state and local governments, and guiding the company through challenging industry conditions. Before forming T.J. Lynch, Inc., Mr. Lynch, Inc., Mr. Lynch worked for Oceaneering Offshore Services International as a Mixed Gas Diver and Testing Engineer. Mr. Lynch serves on the Board of Directors of the Direct Selling Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
As Co-founder of both 1-800-WineShop and WineShop At Home, Melissa Lynch has poured her passion for the wine country lifestyle and her love of bringing family and friends together into every aspect of the business. Her creative talent and personal style infuse the Company with warmth and grace. Prior to helping build both companies from the ground up, Melissa Lynch has spent over 15 years experience in sales, marketing and business development in both start-up and multi-billion dollar organizations. Formerly the Vice President of Business Development at PeopleSoft, a $2 billion dollar software company, Ms. Lynch was responsible for developing sales and marketing programs with strategic Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining PeopleSoft, Ms. Lynch was a founding director at Commerce One, one of the most successful IPO’s in history.
Charles L. Orr is an independent director and advisor to both public and private companies. From 1993 through 2000, Mr. Orr was President and CEO of Shaklee Corporation, which included the brand names of Harry and David, Jackson and Perkins and Shaklee. Prior business affiliations include CIGNA, Continental Insurance, Federated Investors, RCA Computer Systems, Southwestern Life and Xerox. Mr. Orr received his MBA from the University of Connecticut and BA from Wesleyan University. He is a former Chairman of the Direct Selling Association and the Direct Selling Education Foundation and a former director of Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 2007, Mr. Orr received the Direct Selling Association’s highest honor, The Hall of Fame Award presented to legendary industry leaders. Past recipients include Mary Kay Ash and Doris Christopher. In 2005, he received
the industry’s Circle of Honor Award.
Mr. Murphy has been the Chief Financial Officer of Princess House, Inc., a $115 plus million direct selling company specializing in cookware, home entertaining and dinnerware items, with over 15,000 consultants. Mr. Murphy’s responsibilities also include the information technology function and back office systems for Princess House. The growth of international markets is also managed within the finance function. Mr. Murphy has also been the Vice President of Accounting for Trammel Crow Facilities Management, an international real estate outsourcing company and Chief Financial Officer for Pepsi Cola New England, a division of PepsiCo.
