For the oenophile to the wine novice, WineShop at Home Independent Wine Consultants begin providing in-home wine tastings in the Triangle.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) June 10, 2006 -- If you have ever stood staring at the labels in the wine section at your local store or wandered into the wineshop and felt completely lost, have no fear. Vince Matal is here to help.
As an Independent Wine Consultant for WineShop at Home, Matal has started providing in-home wine tastings in the Triangle.
"The in-home wine tastings are designed to allow anyone who has an appreciation of fine wine, regardless of their wine education, to enjoy some great wines and camaraderie and, maybe, they might learn something new," says Matal.
These personal, fun events, held in local homes in the Triangle and normally consisting of 12-16 people, are a great way to learn about wine, food pairings with wines, and, most importantly, have a good time.
Matal brings 6 bottles of boutique wines for the guests to taste. These limited production wines, typically cannot be found in stores locally, so the tastings are a great opportunity to try some new wines in a relaxed, casual environment. He presents the wine, discuss some facts such information about the vineyard, what to look for in the wine and a recipe specifically designed for the wine. The tasting guest are encouraged to try the various hor d'oeuvres and cheeses that are provided to understand how different foods can affect the taste of the wine. The wines can be ordered at the tasting and are delivered directly to the home of the buyer. There is also a wine-club and gift baskets are also available.
"The tastings," continues Matal, "are very casual. My job is to educate people about the wines. There is a great variety in the wines presented so even the most particular wine fan will find something they like. They are alot of fun."
