Our Halcyon 2016 Pinot Noir has a classic nose for this varietal. Strong aromas of red fruit such as strawberry and raspberry are in the nose. This evolves toward traditional barrel ageing characters of smokiness, mocha, tobacco and leather. The oak toast is well integrated in the structure. This dry red is powerful all the way to the finish, which is not typically characteristic of this varietal. The mid-palate features a good amount of tannins that complement this wine.
This classic Pinot Noir can be paired with duck or other game birds, casseroles or stews like Beef Bourguignon. Enjoy it with the featured recipe: Chicken Alfredo and Rice Casserole.
