Our Joy Cellars 2016 Tempranillo was grown in Paso Robles, along the Pacific Coast of California. This Tempranillo displays some maturity and dark fruit like cherry, boysenberry and blueberry. Later some tobacco, licorice and prune aromas come forward. There is a hint of smokiness in the nose and in the mouth. This wine has a fruity, round attack that emerges shortly after a lot of powerful and lush tannins. The body might be perceived as mildly intense. The aromas and flavors are very compact within the wine but provide an explosive expression.
Pair this wine with dishes like meat lasagna, pork chops, beef stew or meatloaf. Enjoy it with the featured recipe: Pork, White Bean & Kale Soup.
