Overview
Halcyon (pronounced hal-see-on) 2019 Alcedo (pronounced al-see-do) from Bordeaux, France has a complex aromatic palate and is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes offer ripe plum, blackberry, cherry and pomegranate flavors, followed by notes of pepper, vanilla, licorice and toasted oak. These nuances come from the European oak used during ageing. The mouth reveals young tannins which will continue to round out over the next few years. This wine has elegant structure and body, and a long finish. Typical of Bourdeaux-style wines, this wine has balance between acidity, tannin and alcohol.
