Somersville Cellars 2020 Solano County Albariño
Albariño (pronounced al-bah-reen-yo) is a famous varietal from Spain and Portugal and it was recently added to the Bordeaux list of approved grapes.
This crisp white has been chosen due to its ability to withstand warmer temperatures. Behind a strawlike color, the nose reveals aromas of daffodil flower, pear, grapefruit, honeydew and lemon zest, followed by notes of vanilla and fresh-baked cupcake. This medium-bodied wine was made exclusively from Albariño grapes grown in Solano County. The mouth displays two main characters, crisp acidity and minerality. This dry, white wine has a citrus finish of Meyer lemon and lime. On the wine calendar, August 1st is Albariño Day, a perfect time to release this wine to our Wine Club.
