Our Credia 2018 Gewürztraminer (cred-ee-aah guh-vurt-stra-mee-ner) is a great representation of grapes grown in the coastal vineyards of Southern California. The fermentation process and ageing on its own lees (or sediment) have developed great aromas of Mandarin orange, orange blossom and mango. The lees ageing or “Sur Lies method” provides fresh tropical fruity characters in just a few short months. In the mouth, we start with a round mouthfeel, which brings a lot of amplitude and some viscosity all the way to the end. There is a nice background of green, herbal components in the finish.
This medium intensity, sweet to off-dry wine will pair well with grilled fish, scallops or a cheese platter. Enjoy it with the featured recipe: White Wine and Herb Grilled Salmon.
