This 2017 blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc from Lake County in the North Coast of California is already mature. Blackberry, cherry and prune are the first aromas in the nose. Later, this maturity is expressed by notes of pepper, dark chocolate and toasted oak. This wine is a great example of a Bordeaux-style blend displaying tannins, acidity and structure in perfect balance. Barrel-aging provides power and tannins. This well-balanced, dry wine’s many varietals each bring their own layer of complexity to the final wine.
