There are only 1,500 acres planted in this appellation with most vineyards between 1,200 and 2,00 feet of elevation. This organic, sustainable vineyard was planted in 1996 and designed to produce a negative carbon footprint. This 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon has been aged in French Oak barrels for sixteen months with minimal intervention and the oak treatment shines through in the nose, along with ripe blackberry and black currant. Additional aromas of vanilla, licorice and dark chocolate gently appear. The integration of the French oak makes this wine approachable now. This elegant, mature Cab opens after a few minutes in the glass or a decanter. Cabernet Sauvignon is known as the king of grapes, so you are in the presence of royalty.
